Bayona consolidates its path to the Oscar and achieves the BAFTA nomination for 'The Snow Society'

The Snow Society by Juan Antonio Bayona has been nominated for Best Non-English Film at the 77th edition of the BAFTAs, a nomination with which the Catalan director's film continues to consolidate its career towards the Oscar. With its entry into the BAFTA shortlist, The Snow Society continues to take steps on its path to the Oscar. Bayona's film is among the fifteen finalists competing for Best International Film. And it might not be its only nomination, since the film also managed to make the cut in three other categories: Best Special Effects, Best Original Score, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The final nominations will be announced next Tuesday, January 23. The subsequent ceremony will be held on March 11 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
