'The Snow Society' and 'Robot dreams', nominated for the 2024 Oscars

The Hollywood Academy announced this Monday the complete list of nominees for the 2024 Oscars. The performers Jack Quaid and Zazie Beetz have been in charge of making public the names and titles that will bid to win the respective statuettes on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the ceremony in which Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer 's film is the favorite with 13 candidates.

The awards will have a Spanish presence thanks to The Snow Society by Juan Antonio Bayona, which achieved the nomination for Best International Film and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. In addition to Pablo Berger, who will opt to win the statuette for Best Animated Film for Robot Dreams . Left out of the list is Penélope Cruz, who was eligible to enter the shortlist for Best Supporting Actress for Ferrari .

In the overall count, Oppenheimer wins the battle against Barbie , which has eight nominations compared to the eleven for Nolan's film; and is surpassed by Poor Creatures by Yorgos Lanthimos and The Moon Killers by Martin Scorsese, which accumulates ten. The next most notable titles are Master by Bradley Copper with seven and three other feature films that accumulate five each: Anatomy of a Fall by Justine Triet, The Zone of Interest by Jonathan Glazer and American Fiction by Cord Jefferson.

We will have to wait a little over a month to find out who will take over from Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's Everything at Once Everywhere , last year's big winner. Until now, only the winners of the Governors Awards (honorary Oscars) were known, who went to actress Angela Bassett, actor, screenwriter and director Mel Brooks and editor Carol Littleton.
